Welcome to Unilifts, a platform designed to facilitate student ride sharing. By using our platform, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Introduction
Unilifts is a platform that allows users to discover, communicate, and leave reviews for ride-sharing opportunities. We are not responsible for any events or actions that occur outside of our platform.
2. Platform Use
- Unilifts is solely a facilitator for host and passenger discovery and review.
- Unilifts does not take responsibility for the actions of drivers or passengers.
- Users must manage their own ride requests and responses.
- Hosts have the right to remove or decline passengers from their rides, and Unilifts cannot intervene.
- Unilifts is not responsible for last-minute cancellations by users.
3. User Responsibilities
- Users are responsible for their own actions while using the platform.
- Users must manage their ride requests, especially if multiple requests are sent.
- Users are expected to rate other users after a ride to build trust and accountability.
- Users must treat each other with respect. Disruptive behaviour or disrespect towards other users can result in account termination.
4. Account Management
- Unilifts relies on third-party OAuth providers for account creation and authentication.
- Users who disrupt the service or mistreat others may have their accounts terminated.
- Problematic users, as reported by others, may have their accounts terminated after assessment by the Unilifts team.
5. Content Use
Unilifts reserves the right to use any content generated on the platform for advertisement or promotional purposes.
6. Independent Agents
Hosts and passengers are independent agents and have no affiliation with Unilifts.
7. Limitation of Liability
- Unilifts cannot be held responsible for any incidents, disputes, or damages arising from the use of the platform.
- Users are encouraged to resolve disputes among themselves. Unilifts may assist in dispute resolution on a case-by-case basis, but final decisions rest with the Unilifts team.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of South Africa.
9. Changes to the Terms
Unilifts reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes by having them posted on this page.
